Why Donate?
Simply said, these charts took a lot of work to create, and I have hosting expenses as well. So, if you like 'em and you'd like to see me add more to this site, please consider donating. How much? Well, most (10-12 song) books cost about $25. So, a general guideline would be a few bucks per song. Thanks!
Do you love to sing by ear, and loathe sheet music?
Do you love reading music, and loathe learning by ear?
Do you love both?
With the files available on this unique site, you will be able to do either or both, at will.
If you're an "ear singer":
Find here downloadable zips containing midi files which, with the aid of a hardware or software "sequencer", enable you to make your own mix...
- Listen to each individual part completely on its own, or
- Move an individual part over to one side of a stereo mix, or
- Make an individual part just a little bit louder than the others, or
- Play it any way you like, until you find yourself deeper and deeper inside the knowledge of the beautiful vocal ensemble, and then either enjoy it as a listener, or sing these wonderful songs with other people in any way you like.
If you read music:
You will find these charts laid out in a more intuitive way than some other sheet music you've known. And with the Internet's quick communication, I can provide you customized charts, mailed in PDF form.
Alan Deane
P.S. Tonight, watching the new Ken Burns documentary on America's National Parks, it occurs to me that the Beach Boys are like a National Park. The Beach Boys are Yosemite. Enjoy the view.
Transcribed by Los Angeles musician Alan Deane (adeane@earthlink.net), guitarist/vocalist for The Captain & Tennille, The Grass Roots, Johnny Rivers, and countless television and film projects.
At left, click on any song title. Each songpage then offers a zip file containing the song in a variety of formats: Lyric PDF, notation PDF, MIDI, Sibelius, and often Finale and Encore. Click here for links to download software to open these file types. Many of the sheet music charts are available in two versions: "Separate", with a separate staff and MIDI channel for each vocal part; and "Stacked", which combines all vocal parts onto one staff and MIDI channel.
Thanks for visiting... And Enjoy!!!

Some Of What Others Have To Say:
"I've compared these charts to books you'll find at your local guitar store, and there's no comparison. These charts are more accurate, more easily understood, and FREE. Great job, Alan!"
- Aurelius Prochazka, Ph.D. Caltech
"This is awesome what you've done..."
- David Blassingame, AIG Enterprise Services, Houston TX
"... incredible! Thanks so much for doing this and making the files
available online."
- Chris Butcher, Student, Ontario Canada
"As a lifelong musician who has waded through stacks of poorly transcribed Beach Boys songbooks, I was ecstatic to see that someone finally got it right. Alan Deane was painstaking - and more importantly accurate - in his work on these tricky transcriptions. If you want to know how Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys achieved their vocal sound, this is the place to start. Bravo, Alan!"
- Gus Russo, author and musician ( ... Alan says: Google this guy!)
